In many ways, he was a great and unique person. His interests in music, Jaffna and family were admirable. We are deeply saddened to hear that our Nihal Anna has passed away from this life. Our thoughts and prayers are with Antoinette acca and his children and Rani aunty, shiranni acca, Vetha anna, Raju anna, Niranjan anna and Jeeva. As a close family member, he was always maintaining a good relationship with us. During his visits to Sri Lanka, France and Canada, he always tried to contact us. Every time, I post a message or a photo on my Facebook page, he always makes a comment and wishes me well. He begins his comment with “Thambi….”. He was really a kindhearted person. My memory goes back to the seventies in Jaffna… Press road, Periya koil, St. Patrick’s and around Jaffna town. We were kids and he was a Priya anna for us. We will always remember him as a jovial and happy Nihal Anna. He will be always in our heart. His music and wonderful voice will ring our ears forever.
