Tributes continue to mount for Nihal Pancratius the remarkable, prolific and visionary music lover who has died in his late 60s. A happy go lucky musician whose melancholy lyrics affected listeners across the community, his songs Yalpanam Ponanedi, Carmel Road Junction and others. Mild-mannered and soft spoken, Nihal lived simple life but loved his family, keyboard and guitar. He felt most comfortable and most abundant when things are very simple and loved to meet up with friends to have a beer. Raised fund for charity organization through musical shows, MC/DJ for Patrician events in the UK and overseas. Organized musical shows, reunion of friends with his guitar, key board and microphone – always wanted to entertain and to have fun. People always felt good around him, happy, excited and there was a lot of fun when he was around. Nihal wanted to help others and mannerly with a big broad beaming smile and with his Donald Trump style cap. He was in class with me though out and we have done many things together – playing softball cricket, school plays, riding bikes with his guitar around his back later (mid 70s) his stay with other patricians and friends at Kitiyakarra Hostel in Borella etc. Our sympathy goes to his loving wife Antoinette, children and grandchildren, families - late Julie/Rajakone, Vetha/Shiranee, Dr Niranjan/Jeeva also mum aunty Antonia. To lose a loved one so young, I can only imagine what his family is going through. May the love of friends and family soften your sorrow and sadness. Nihal was larger than life a beautiful soul will be fondly remembered by us all - RIP
